ROOFING FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Have questions about our reroofing your home? Unsure about the process? Wishing to gain insight before organising your roofing quote? Below are just some of our common roofing frequently asked questions.

How much does can a reroof or roof replacement cost?
This can vary from home to home depending on the size and type of roof. For example replacing the roof on a 272m² lowset house can start from $23,000 including GST. This covers the QBCC licensing, building approval, the Form 12, roof sheets and flashing, building blanket, edge protection and removing of existing materials.

What happens if the weather turns bad while my roof is being replaced?
At Signature Roofing and Guttering we never uncover more of the roof than we can finish in a day, therefore, ensuring we can cover up any open roof quickly and easily if it starts to rain. If we have not started your roof and the weather is predicted to rain, we will just delay the start until the rain has passed.

Do you remove the rubbish when the roofing job is completed?
All the roofing waste and rubbish will be removed and your property will be left as it was before the roofing work started. All the old metal and offcuts of metal are recycled, ensuring we are doing our bit for the environment.

Is it safe to do my own roofing work?
Australians are quite the enthusiasts when it comes to home DIY jobs. Look at the reality TV programs that are on in the average aussie lounge room on a weekday night – we’re optimistic when it comes to picking up the tools to make or fix something ourselves.

Unfortunately, for many of us who just aren’t gifted in the DIY department, this can all too easily end up causing more pain and costing more money than it’s worth.

COLORBOND® roofs are one area where it’s essential to leave installation to a roofing professional. By engaging a professional you will be guaranteed it will be installed safely, in a timely manner, and by following the correct procedures.

The team at Signature Roofing are roofing professionals and have many hours of training covering roof safety, roof systems, roof products and correct techniques and more.

Your personal safety must be priority, a slip or fall from a roof can have devastating consequences. Leave roofing work to the professionals.

What are some of the signs my roof needs fixing?
One of the first but not only indicators of a roof or gutter problem can be a wet mark on your ceiling, flaking paint, distorted ceiling plasterboard, excessive water flowing over gutters or pouring out of downpipes, or gutters hanging down. These are just a few indicators that there is something not right with your roof or gutters and you should get a professional roof inspection from a reputable company.
